With modern synthetic oils being so good compared to the stuff that was available in the 70s, I've seen a couple of opinions which say you can back off the oil pump adjustment a bit as:a) the oil's much better at lubricating
b) as the oil pump gets worn, it delivers more oil anyway
What do you all think about this? My bike's a '76 380A, using Silkolene Comp 2+ full synthetic oil, with oil pump set as per manual.
It doesn't smoke when hot, or foul plugs at all, but I do get bits of oily goop out of the tailpipes after a good run.
