For historic production and modified street bikes I normally use milled standard heads. But squish heads for the street offer better midrange after porting. You must not have extremely high compression though for the low octane.
Both my race bikes have squish heads. One of them my own design and the other are TR500 factory heads. I run 110 t0 114 ocatane and generally B10 plugs.
