Yeah, Bill, I thought it odd as well when I realized that my T500K lacked an on/off switch on the handlebars. The key ignition below the tank might be inconvenient, but it gives a cool classic look. I bet you could rig an kill switch if you wanted - pulling in the clutch lever and turning that key off would be quite a feat to perform at speed.
