Claxton & Beatty: 1924 – Lambert on a B.T. before the start of the 3rd Tour de France. Organised by the Motorcycle Club de France since 1922, this great regularity competition was contested over nearly 4,000 kilometres on a course around the country, to be covered in sixteen consecutive days. Despite completing the course and not losing any points, offering to sell cheaper than competitors & being innovative for its time, the B.T. failed to find any backers and did not go into production, Claxton & Beatty shutting shop in 1926.
