APPLECROSS:

Along the river in flood

CLAREMONT:

Not such a great quality image, but the subject matter makes up for it. Horse-drawn cab in Claremont. My grandmother is the young woman sitting at the back, leaning out towards the camera.

MUNDARING WEIR:

My great grandmother with two of her three children on a day visit to Mundaring Weir, Sept 28, 1913.

MOUNT HAWTHORN:

A couple of photos taken on 25 Feb 1924, at my great grandfather A.T. Beste’s home in Matlock St, Mt Hawthorn. Apparently, it was a time of water shortage, as it seems they are sharing from the water tank, with neighbours, and also getting supplies from a water truck in the street.

SWAN RIVER:

A few  sailing photos, on the Swan River, this time from my great uncle Atle Melsom’s album. The yacht with the star on the sail was named “Eileen” and the yacht in the other image was, I think, named “HC Press”.

NEDLANDS:

Nedlands foreshore in 1937 and 1939.
