After the KG marque was taken over by Allright, the brothers Peter, Oskar and Max Krieger started their own brand, Original-Krieger, at Suhl in Thuringia during 1925 and 1926, a machine also known as Krieger and as K-2. The split was not theirs alone. Franz Gn&auml;dig likewise set out on his own with the Gn&auml;dig marque before moving to K&uuml;hne and Diamant, and he joined Diamant in 1926 and later moved to Opel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-top: 8.0pt; text-align: justify;\">The motorcycle itself was a more conventional and modest design than the shaft-drive KG that had made the family&rsquo;s reputation. The Original-Krieger used a 347cc Blackburne side-valve engine, but it could not match the commercial success of the KG.
