KRIEGER (ORIGINAL KRIEGER) <\/span>| <\/span>1925-26 <\/span>| <\/span>Germany <\/span>:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Once the KG brand had passed out of their hands, the Krieger brothers tried again under their own name. After the KG marque was taken over by Allright, the brothers Peter, Oskar and Max Krieger started their own brand, Original-Krieger, at Suhl in Thuringia during 1925 and 1926, a machine also known as Krieger and as K-2. The split was not theirs alone. Franz Gnädig likewise set out on his own with the Gnädig marque before moving to Kühne and Diamant, and he joined Diamant in 1926 and later moved to Opel.<\/p>\n The motorcycle itself was a more conventional and modest design than the shaft-drive KG that had made the family’s reputation. The Original-Krieger used a 347cc Blackburne side-valve engine, but it could not match the commercial success of the KG.
