Western Australians Killed in Vietnam

Rare 1969 feature magazine

Weekend magazine for December 13 1969 supplement to the Western Australian Weekend News. This newspaper went feet up in the 70s. The magazine is in black with the caption "Since June 29, 42 West Australians have been killed in the war in Vietnam." The magazine is 32 pages and features an article on the Vietnam War and its impact on young Australians. It includes interviews with anonymous servicemen. The main part of the article has details of the 42 West Australians killed in the war to that date, including photos and personal details. A remarkable and unique memento of this divisive war. As well the magazine has a review of a book on the Vietnam War by Dr Jim Cairns. There other articles as well and the TV Guide for the week. TV has changed a lot in the past 38 years! The magazine is in very good condition. There are many period advertisements.

A very rare and collectible item of Vietnam memorabilia. This is a rare survivor of the press from that period. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the only copy in existence. It makes for moving reading and one mourns for these young lost lives. Picture quality is much better than the reduced size scan indicates.

Illustration here are reduced in scale and quality for web - magazine is much better and clearer
