Dunsterville; said to be Rudyard Kipling's inspiration for the character 'Stalky'. The force included Australian and NZ troops. This ebook includes photos, maps and a description of the campaign as well as a transcription of the book on the campaign - "Stalky's Forlorn Hope" by Captain Savige MC. Included also is a copy of CE Bean's report - "Australians in the Transcaucasus", a report and photos on the campaign from Hammerton's "Great War" and a report and photos from the Times "History of the War" on this campaign. A campaign that rings down through the years to today where the conflict between the Kurds, Armenians, Arabs, Iranians, Turks etc still rages. Fantastic reading of a brave attempt to deal with the enormous forces at work on this frontier. Tragic in it's scope and the fate of the Assyrian Christians, Armenians and Kurds.
