50cc Norman
Norman was aKent based manufacturer of lightweight motorcycles. First started production
in 1937 with a 100cc Villiers engined aut-cycle called the Mobyk. In 1948 Norman presented
autocycles and motorcycles from 100-250cc which maninly used Villiers engines. A
short-lived machine was the Anzani powered 250cc Uni-twin of 1956. In 1958 Norman bought
the rights to a Sachs engined 50cc moped from the German company Achilles and marketed it
as the Norman Lido. By 1963 production had stopped after the comapny was bought by Raleigh
in 1961.
