Glenn Curtiss aboard his record breaking V8 machine
Glenn Curtiss, an aviation pioneer, built motorcycles in New york from 1902-10. His most famous machine was a V8 which achieved a record speed of 136mph in 1907. Production machines were either singles or V-twins. In 1909 the firm also offered a 3 cylinder model in which the 3rd cylinder was set in the vee of a V-twin. Whilst aviation interests took over the firm continued to produce the Marvel until 1914.
